ONE WORD - Series Introduction

Hey Worship Exposed!

This month’s series is going to be very unique, but we are excited for the challenges ahead!

Every New Year we seek to make changes in our lives that will help us become better versions of ourselves. These resolutions include things such as getting in better shape, becoming a better friend, getting ahead of finances, growing deeper in faith, and the list goes on. However, it’s rare that we consistently follow through or fully accomplish our resolutions. In fact, we are one month into 2016, and I bet a lot of people have already given up their resolutions. We get it! Life gets crazy and chaotic… Then suddenly the year is over, and we barely touched the goals we had set for the year. But we want to change that...

This month’s series is based off of Mike Ashcraft and Rachel Olsen’s “My One Word” challenge. This challenge helps individuals focus on one simple word to carry into the New Year.

“The My One Word challenge is simple: lose the long the list of changes you want to make this year and instead pick one word that represents what you most hope God will do in you in the year ahead. This process forces clarity and results in focus. It’s okay to want to be a better you — the question is, how? My One Word replaces broken promises with a vision for real change. When you choose a single word, you have a single focus. You are moving toward the future rather than swearing off the past.”

During this next month, each of the Worship Exposed writers will be revealing the ONE WORD that we feel God has placed on our hearts to focus on during this next year. In doing so, we are going to explain how this ONE WORD correlates to our worship of God. In February, you are going to get to see how God is working in our lives personally and how He is calling us to go deeper in our relationships with Him through the aspects of ONE WORD and worship.

We want YOU to join us in this challenge! We want you to prayerfully pick out ONE WORD that you believe God is calling you to focus on during this next year. Then we want you to SHARE your ONE WORD! Oh, and don’t forget to TAG Worship Exposed in your post:
